Yes, purple reigns supreme!

Radiant Orchid has been named Pantone Color of the Year 2014 and it’s the hot new color trend from fashion to furniture. (Not to mention a personal favorite). This shade’s connotations of royalty, creativity and femininity make it the perfect shade for spring, which we hope is just around the corner!

It’s a color you won’t find in a Crayola box, but next time you’re shopping, it’ll be there — in chairs, accent pillows and much more. The color seems poised to be highly featured in interior design as one of its qualities is considered to be its ability to flatter and inspire. In fact, before we even knew it was trendy, we selected a sophisticated shade of Radiant Orchid to accent our office. The rich hue, paired with a bright green, brings warmth and a touch of fun to our professional space.

Maybe you’re not a fan of this show-stopping, juicy-hue covering your walls, but don’t discount it entirely. Those accessories and accent pieces that catch your eye at the store can speak in a big way when strategically placed in your space. It is sometimes easy to forget that color can be one of the easiest, and most effective, ways of making your design really stand out. And whether you’re using orchid as an accent next to greens, browns or blues, or as the head honcho of the design, it can really make a splash.
